The cleaning business is huge, and there are actually multiple industries within it. There are two industries within the cleaning business. These are usually referred to as the commercial and residential cleaning industries. These two industries, while they both deal with cleaning, are actually two different things that have a lot of differences. These differences are numerous. In this article, we will go over only a few differences after briefly defining each industry.
The commercial cleaning industry, as the name suggests, deals with the cleaning of commercial buildings. These buildings include commercial kitchens, retail stores, and office buildings. These areas do not have anyone living in them and are solely used for work.
Residential cleaning is a different sector of the cleaning business. Residential cleaning is the cleaning of personal homes. Residential cleaning does not have anything to do with cleaning businesses or other places of work. Residential cleaning is solely for the cleaning of homes.
As you can see, there are already some things that will clearly be different among these two cleaning industries. There are a few things that will be very different. One of the things has to do with the size of the crews who clean these buildings. Residential cleaners are usually made up of one person or a very small crew of people. One the other hand commercial cleaning crews tend to be a lot bigger. It is not rare to see at least a team of people cleaning a commercial building. This is not a strict rule, however, as you could find residential cleaning crews for huge homes that have multiple people on their team. You could also find a very small office that only employs one commercial cleaner.
Commercial cleaners will also use a lot of different products that would not be used in residential cleaning. This is especially true for things like commercial kitchens that have to be cleaned very intensely and thoroughly. A lot of residential cleaners opt for more gentle and natural cleaners, especially in this day and age when a lot of residential clients are requesting more natural cleaners.
Although we have talked about a few of the differences between commercial cleaning and residential cleaning, there are still many more things that could be discussed that separates the commercial cleaning industry from the residential cleaning industry.
